Jewel, Las Vegas: Nightclub AV System Case Study
At over 24,000 square feet, Jewel, Las Vegas is the Hakkasan Group’s shimmering addition to the Las Vegas Strip. Nestled within the ARIA Resort & Casino. This premium venue is more than a nightclub it’s a visual and sonic experience.
Audiotek was tasked with delivering a fully integrated AV system that could support the immersive ambitions of the brand. The goal? Not just another flashy club install but a kinetic, sensory space where sight and sound dance in sync.
Jewel, Las Vegas Project Challenges
Designing a venue on the Strip means the bar is already sky-high. For Jewel, challenges included:
- Creating a cohesive sound and visual system across a massive footprint
- Blending lighting and video into the interior architecture
- Achieving high-impact visuals without overwhelming the guest experience
- Supporting a rotating roster of world-class performers
- Designing a system that can be updated as technology evolves
Project Scope – AV Installation at Jewel, Las Vegas
Audiotek provided the full AV design and specification, including:
- Video, lighting and sound systems throughout the venue
- Kinetic LED installations, including a custom grid behind the DJ
- Integration of Ayrton Dream Panel Twin and Magic Dot lighting fixtures
- Absen LED walls and visual architecture wrapping pillars and walls
This was a full-on end to end delivery of a next-gen nightlife system.
Design Approach to Nightclub AV System
Jewel’s AV concept had to be stunning, but also versatile. Audiotek took a layered design approach:
- Lighting: Ayrton Dream Panel Twin used both sides of each unit. Video and beam, to create dynamic displays on a kinetic grid behind the DJ
- Video: Absen LED technology was used for high-res visual surfaces wrapping the room in light
- Movement: Custom telescopic brackets allowed fixtures to shift position, animating the room in real time
- Sound: A performance-grade audio system supported live sets, playback, and ambient modes, though specific brand details are confidential
Each element was synchronised to deliver a coherent visual rhythm, always in step with the music.
Key Innovations
- Kinetic DJ Wall: Ayrton Magic Dots, mounted on motorised brackets, transform the DJ backdrop into a moving light sculpture
- Dual-Sided Lighting: The Dream Panel Twin units serve as both LED screen and beam light, switching roles seamlessly depending on the set
- Architectural LED Wraps: LED ribbons contour the venue’s structural elements, pulsing in perfect time with the beat
- Sensory Sync: Full system synchronisation means lighting, visuals, and audio never compete—they collaborate
Jewel, Las Vegas Installation & Execution
Jewel’s AV system required millimetre-precise planning. Audiotek led:
- Pre-visualisation of the LED layouts and movement paths
- Coordination with structural engineers for bracket integration
- Electrical infrastructure upgrades to handle the system’s demands
- Live commissioning with show programming for opening night
- On-site training for lighting and video operators
This wasn’t just a kit drop. It was a total sensory strategy, delivered to Las Vegas standards.
