Omnia, Las Vegas: Nightclub AV System Case Study
In a city of grandeur, Omnia, Las Vegas had to raise the bar. Located in Caesar’s Palace and taking up over 75,000 square feet. Omnia set out to be the most talked-about nightclub on the Strip, and far beyond.
Audiotek’s role? To design and deliver a fully integrated AV system that didn’t just support the show, it is the show. Featuring a 32-foot diameter, 5-tonne kinetic chandelier covered in Robe lighting, the system had to blend high-tech precision with pure Las Vegas theatre.
Project Challenges
Every nightclub project has its own demands, but Omnia took them to another level:
- Engineering a kinetic centrepiece weighing five tonnes, combining lighting and movement in perfect sync
- Managing three distinct venue environments under one AV umbrella: a main room, ultra-lounge, and rooftop terrace
- Creating a scalable system that could power massive headline DJ sets, intimate VIP events, and everything in between
- Controlling sound spill in outdoor areas surrounded by high-end hotel suites
- Ensuring flawless AV integration in a venue that operates seven days a week
Project Scope – AV Installation at Omnia, Las Vegas
Audiotek was responsible for the full AV ecosystem at Omnia, Las Vegas encompassing:
- Audio design and installation across all three zones
- Lighting specification including the main chandelier and feature lighting rigs
- Video system integration for content playback and environmental visuals
- Structural integration of moving elements, lighting arrays, and high-performance speakers
The main room featured a L-Acoustics ARCS II system with SB28 subwoofers for full-range, club-grade coverage, and XTi loudspeakers for fills. The ultra-lounge used ARCS Focus and Wide models with SB18 subs for a tighter, more intimate feel. On the terrace, Renkus-Heinz loudspeakers were deployed for powerful yet directional sound to minimise noise pollution.
Design Approach to Nightclub AV System
We approached Omnia with a layered strategy:
- Lighting & Movement: The centrepiece chandelier is more than décor. It’s a kinetic lighting system driven by a matrix of Robe fixtures, rigged on motorised winches that allow it to descend, spin, and pulse with the beat.
- Audio Precision: L-Acoustics systems were selected for their power, clarity, and modular deployment across variable venue types.
- Video Content: Integrated video playback supports immersive content during DJ sets and private events.
- Control & Automation: All systems are unified under a central control platform, allowing seamless transitions between modes.
Every zone is different, yet the experience is always consistent.
Omnia, Las Vegas Key Innovations
- The Kinetic Chandelier: A 32-foot wide moving sculpture of light and metal, combining mechanical engineering and Robe lighting to create a living ceiling
- Zoned System Intelligence: Each room has its own tuned audio and lighting profile, but shares central command
- Terrace Sound Management: Renkus-Heinz directional loudspeakers keep the party inside without waking the neighbours
- Modular Lighting: Ayrton fixtures offer hybrid beam/wash functions that can adapt to any artist’s requirements
Omnia, Las Vegas Project Installation & Execution
Omnia’s execution phase was as intense as its design:
- Audiotek collaborated with venue architects, mechanical engineers, and rigging specialists for safe deployment of the chandelier
- Extensive pre-build modelling ensured accurate motor coordination, sightlines, and SPL mapping
- The team provided full commissioning support, show programming, and live event integration
- Backup systems were installed to support redundancy in lighting and audio during critical events
From the first cue to the last encore, Omnia runs like a showpiece should.
Commercial & Educational Insights
Omnia proves that next-level AV is more than gear:
- Movement adds magic: The chandelier became a signature feature not just because it lights up, but because it transforms
- Sound must match scale: L-Acoustics’ modular approach ensures each room gets the energy it needs without overpowering
- Integrate early: Working with mechanical teams during early design stages made structural challenges solvable
- Zoning reduces risk: Modular zones allow the show to go on even if one section needs attention
Conclusion – Nightclub AV System That Owns the Room
Omnia is the kind of venue where people look up, and then can’t look away. From its massive kinetic centrepiece to its crystal-clear sound and immersive lighting, every detail is choreographed for impact.
Audiotek delivered an AV system worthy of the Vegas spotlight and then some.
